Meet our Vet Nurses

Karen Allsop RVN

Karen is a very experienced veterinary nurse who particularly enjoys interacting with clients and their pets.
She has worked all over the world including 7 years in Australia, and has now settled in Cornwall.
Outside work, she is setting up a smallholding with menagerie of animals including dexter cows, chickens, rabbits, pigeon and Boysie her border collie.

Lauren Ohlsson RVN

I started at St Austell in November 2015 and enjoy all parts of nursing I have a keen interest in client and pet care.
At home I have a wide collection of pets, most of which came through work as strays along the way, including 3 dogs Zak, Addo and Milo, 5 cats, an African grey parrot as well as 2 rabbits, a tortoise and 2 terrapins.

I love to explore Cornwall with my Husband Kris and our dogs “Zak” and “Mylo” along with a friend’s Boxer “Bruno” who joins us on most of our adventures.

Megan Sevier

Megan volunteered at Penmellyn St columb for over a year before joining the team as a student in September 2014.
She has a BTEC National Diploma in animal management and has worked closely with Newquay zoo and Blue Reef aquarium. She is currently based at the St Austell branch and is enjoying her training both practical and theory.
In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog, Lilly and caring for her cat and 5 chickens.

Laura Knight – RVN

Laura qualified as a veterinary nurse in December 2015 and joined Penmellyn in April 2016.

She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing especially caring for hospitalised patients; and she would also like to obtain an additional qualification in emergency and critical care in the future.

At home she has Lottie a Labrador cross and two cats Vinny and Malibu.
